About me
I am a dynamic music educator and performer with over a decade of experience spanning the UK and international contexts. Currently, I serve as the Trust Music Coordinator for nine schools within the Bohunt Education Trust, where I lead curriculum development and teacher professional development. My work is grounded in a commitment to inclusive education, curriculum innovation, and amplifying student voice. Driven by a social constructivist philosophy, I believe that knowledge is co-constructed through dialogue and shared experiences, rather than transmitted through hierarchy. My teaching practice and research seek to democratise knowledge, validate diverse musical perspectives, and bridge theory with lived experience in the classroom. My academic journey is supported by ongoing doctoral research (EdD), focusing on curriculum design and student agency. I regularly contribute to key music education publications, including Music Teacher Magazine and Ensemble Magazine, and present at national and international conferences. I have published articles on topics such as curriculum design, student voice, and inclusive practice. Recent and forthcoming works include: Dissing Ability: Rethinking Value, Skill, and Inclusion in Music Education (revisions being completed) Power and Policy: Unpacking Hegemonic Narratives in Music Education (in press with Journal of Popular Music Education)
